Queerguru checks out a fab funny TV series “Settle Down” about Queer Dating Chaos + Love

Whenever an email from Charlie David lands in our inbox, I swear there is some steam coming out of our  MacBook.  He’s the man behind the very successful queer Canadian media production company Border2Border Entertainment who  have given us films/tv programs such as Mulligans, The Judas Kiss, Im A Porn Star etc.  When we first came across David in 2005 he was playing the lead in Dante’s Cove a queer supernatural soap opera for HERE TV when they still had a significant presence in queer culture. Now he acts less but is busy writing, directing, and producing projects such as the series Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride, which earned him numerous awards, bringing his total to date to a very impressive 73!

His latest project is SETTLE DOWN a new TV series that has just been released but has already won 5  awards.  It’s the’ story of Mason (played by Alexander Nunez), a celebrated matchmaker and host of a wildly popular advice podcast which offers listeners answers to their questions on all things love. Mason’s matchmaking business is thriving—he helps clients from all walks of life find their perfect match with unmatched success. But while his professional life is soaring, his marriage to his husband Jarod (Leighton Alexander Williams) is on the brink of collapse.

I won’t stir David’s wrath by telling you more of the plot, but what I will say if there is an ounce of romance in your  queer soul (!) you will end up binge watching all 6 episodes just to see if love really does win out.  Alexander , who you may remember from Avocado Toast The Series or Moonshine, is the real star of the piece that he also wrote, and he gives such a compelling performance.

Settle Down is the perfect antidote if you are single and have totally exhausted Grindr and are still looking for your own  Timothée Chalamet

SETTLE DOWN is streaming on
