Queer Brit artist Ben Youdan and his FILTH

Ben Youdan may recently have been  the Artist -In-Residence at the Tom of Finland Foundation in L.A. but his heart is still in his hometown of Liverpool in the North England.  Its there in The Gallery in Stanhope Street that he has his current exhibit FILTH.

It is celebrating queer male sexuality, exploring gender identity, leather and fetish subculture. Filth is a series of portraits embodying the joy and freedom of queer sex and sexual expression.

Youdans’  work uses a wide variety of techniques and processes including collage, painting, printmaking and photography, to create imagery 

Filth is all work he started whilst at the  Tom of Finland Foundation’s  TOM HOUSE”  and whilst there Youdan made some great  connections with the Leather community of Los Angeles.  At the end of his residency Youdan exhibited a series of six mixed media portraits and these works have developed into the new collection for the Liverpool exhibition.
