Ptown’s WASHASHORE FESTIVAL : 3 day genre-bending, town-wide, multi-venue queer music Fest

Even though I have summered in PTown Massachusetts for the past 24 years the locals will always consider me a washashore.  It’s a real word by the way: Meriam Webster defines it to bring (something) onto the shore by waves, then quickly adds like ‘debris!’

Provincetown was settled by the Brits back in the 17th Century …… actually Wampanoag Indians were here before them.  Since then there have been colonies of washashores anxious to call this spit of land at the tip of Cape Cod home.  Fishermen, Portuguese, Artists, and of course Gay who turned up to gentrify the ‘village’.  Technically all of them/us are washahores, except the Indians that have all but disappeared

Now after the hectic summer season has ended and almost the last invasion of tourists have left Town,  then the washashores come out in full force to celebrate.

The Provincetown Brewing Co.’s + Crown and AnchorWashashore Music & Arts Festival” is an annual gathering celebrating the union of live music, good beer, and the everlasting singularity of Provincetown.

It is committed to uplifting and reflecting Provincetown’s unique soul with performers that embody free expression, individuality, beauty, acceptance, and joy. People who attend “Washashore Festival” will be compelled to participate in Provincetown Brewing Co.’s commitment to #draftivism – giving back to progressive causes while having a good time.

The Washashore Festival is an unforgettable, 3 day, multi-venue, genre-bending, Queer music festival that celebrates the freedom, breadth, and power of Queer expression in a village at the end of the world that has long been a safe haven for rebels, adventurers, artists, and liberated souls of all stripes.

It all kicks off with Washashore Festival’s 1st Annual NET GALA red carpet at The Crown and Anchor hosted by the nightlife royalty of FAGBASH @missfagbash feat. @mommaleecurtis @thekorchporch & @thefatherfigure, along with a list of three afterparties good enough to make a townie weep FAGBASH feat. LeFox @koti_lefox, Mushroom Head with James Cerne @deafjams & Andrew Lenox @andrewlenox_music, all topped off with soul-filled Sunday night fav, Church by @guerrettemarc – feat.
