People Like Us: An Evening of Revellry

For a evening of Revellry, People Like Us are taking over iconic East London queer venue The Glory, creating a site-specific installation of images and holding a cabaret featuring talented participants from the project to celebrate the work so far.

‘People Like Us’ is an ongoing collaborative photography project by artist Holly Revell, exploring trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming (GNC) identities and experiences.

Holly is an artist photographer who makes collaborative portraits with fellow queer folk exploring transforming identities. They have made a significant contribution to the photographic documentation of queer performance and its icons in London, creating a record of a movement and its community (2009 – 2019/ongoing). They self-published their first photo book with the godfather of avant-garde drag; ‘David Hoyle: Parallel Universe’ in 2017.  Their work is archived at the Bishopsgate Institute in London.

This upcoming event on the 2nd of August will see them take over The Glory with an installation of images and a cabaret featuring talent from the project.
