People Like Us

This new LGBT webseries about four different men looking for love, lust and all things in between set in Singapore, shows that asides from a few odd phrases there is in fact very little difference from these mens searches to other gay men seeking the same around the globe.

It all starts on a Friday night when they are all individually gearing up for some sort of night on the town.  26 year PR consultant Joel is normally a smart cookie, but when it comes to encounters with men he is very impatient and never content to let things develop at a natural pace.  It is the reason why his relationships have never lasted more than 3 months.  His latest beau is closeted Ridzwan a 30 year old accountant who wants the sex, but without any attachment or commitment and has a morbid fear of anyone finding out he is gay.

Cute 20 year old Rai, who is currently serving in the Army, is so desperate to meet his Mr Right that he enthusiastically throws himself into a continuous series of really bad dates where everyone wants sex rather than the love that he is constantly searching.   He hopes that Isaac a much older private banker may be the answer, but newly divorced Isaac wants to enjoy his newly found sexual freedom, which in his case means hosting chem-sex parties.

This series from filmmaker Leon Cheo  was created by GayHealth.sg a fairly new organization that connects and helps the LGBT community in Singapore, so although the sex si steamy it is very safe.

People like Us has been screened at Festivals all around the world and is now available in the US on the Here TV Network or online at http://www.gayhealth.sg
