The fabulous Peaches Christ is a filmmaker and cult leader living in San Francisco. Her infamous iconic movie events are self-produced at the Castro Theatre and regularly draw over 1,000 attendees. Honored with The Marlon Riggs Award for his two decades of vital work in the Bay Area film community as a performer, programmer, producer, educator, and filmmaker; for making San Francisco an essential international destination for cult and underground film; and for creating jobs and safe spaces for queer artists and film fans.
Queerguru got to talk with Peaches and conductor EDWIN OUTWATER as they were preparing to take their CHRISTMAS GAIETY SHOW to London’s regal ROYAL ALBERT HALL. This year’s Anglo-American star-studded queer cast includes Sister Roma, Sandy Toksvig, Baga Chipz, Kerry Ellis, Le Gateau Chocolat. House of Revlon UK, The Fourth Choir, Anna Lapwood, (adult film star) Teddy Bryce and all with The BBC Concert Orchestra. The Show plays one night only before traveling to Newcastle in the North of England, before going back over the Atlantic to perform in San Francisco’s Symphony Hall.
