Provincetown is famous (or infamous!) for many things including its claim to be America’s Oldest Continuous Art Colony. Besides the fact that over the years it has been home to some incredibly talented artists who have produced some extraordinary, it has survived because of it’s willingness to welcome new members . More importantly however is it’s ability to herald in change that has kept the community thriving .
Now Provincetown/New York Photographer Greg Salvatori has given us a sneak preview of a new scheme to be launched by Provincetown Commons tomorrow.
PROVINCETOWN GALLERY STROLL is group of +30 art galleries brought together in an attempt to face the COVID crisis together. They have transforming the well-known, and well-loved, weekly gallery stroll into a virtual space. Salvatore conceptualized and built a website to showcase what’s new in the galleries every week.
His work was one part tech know how and two parts creative vision to develop a collective, online experience for the vibrant gallery scene that has made Ptown so special.
