The word gogglebox is British slang for television. It has also been adopted for =the name of a British TV program where (colorful) members of the public are filmed at home giving live commentary on what they are currently watching live on TV. Trust me it is much more fun than it sounds, and usually far more entertaining than the actual program they are watching.
The concept is now being copied elsewhere around the world and is a big hit in Australia who also title their version Gogglebox too. Here is a particular mesmerizing edition when the people at home are watching an episode of the very popular reality dating program First Dates. Two people have been matched up by experts and now they get to have dinner in the First Dates restaurant to see if there is a spark or two.
On this particular occasion it’s two young campy gay boys whose behaviour is the cause for a great deal of merriment and a far bit of shock for the Australians watching at home.
