It’s with deep sadness that we learn of the death of the English male model, songwriter, and musician. NICK KAMEN this week aged 59. It is just six years after his brother Barry passed away of a heart attack at 52. It is so sad that both left us fat too young.
The pair of them first found fame when the iconic stylist Ray Patri featured them as part of his ‘Buffalo Boys’ look. The original photograph taken by Roger Charity that proudly hangs in Queerguru Office is part of that campaign which was the ‘definitive fashion’ look in the late 1980s.
We are far from being the only ones that were smitten with the brother’s stylish looks and their unlimited charm. Madonna wrote and produced Nick’s first hit single “Each Time You Break My Heart” .
As well as Petri putting Nick on the front cover of the UK-style bible The Face, what really cemented his fame was the TV advert shot in 1987 for Levis in a Laundromat, It’s such a classic that we can never get tired of watching it.
