Never Chose A Book By Its Cover

queerguru always knew there were queer librarians, but we have to confess that we didn’t know that they went around in packs. Well, not literally. But Que(e)ry is their own organization and not just queer librarians, but also for information professionals and their friends and allies.

They promote the relevance and accessibility of library collections and services to queer communities and bring  attention and support to hidden queer collections.  Asides from all the serious stuff, they also like to party too albeit as fundraisers to finance their research and also help worthy causes such as Interference Archive!

As is happens they have an event coming up this Sunday December 3rd from  8pm-late at The Rosemont, 63 Montrose Ave., Brooklyn NY.  Its Free (but don’t be mean, give them a huge donation) and you can see that not all librarians wear Clark Kent glasses (as if) or are remotely bookish.  They do love to get down and dirty, before it’s NO TALKING again on Monday morning when they are back on duty with all those dusty volumes.

We found at they have been going since 2010 and were shocked (well pleasantly surprised) that have hosted a few raunchy events in the past like this party.  Who knew!
