Diminutive Tom Goss one of Queerguru’s favorite queer singer/songwriters is technically a ‘bear cub”. Happily married to his chunky bear husband Mike Briggs, Goss likes to share his love of the bear community in his work. What we love about this is how he imbues it with both respect and his wicked sense of humor.
Last year he penned a song called Nerdy Bears which paid homage to the subset of plus-sized gay men that enjoy superheroes and video games. It was a great success and attracted the attention Goss’s friend “Means Girl” actor Daniel Franzese who suggested they do a new remix. Franzese, who did one of the perfect queer parodies of all time with his version of Sam Smiths’ Stay With Me, came up with a very specific idea.
He told YazzMagazine “When Tom’s original came out last summer, I was like ‘OMG, it’s about time we got an anthem of guys pursuing us in song. We should do a remix of this track where the bear responds that he’s down to party—and I should rap on it!’”
Watch and listen. It’s the perfect way to kick off Memorial Day Weekend and will put a great big smile on every queer face,
