Queerguru first got to meet the multi-talented Venezuelan performer Migguel Anggelo some 5 years ago when he brought his One-Man-Show WELCOME TO LA MISA, BABY to the Provincetown Theater . He is a fireball of energy and is brimming with infectious passion and unbridled charm and we soon fell in love with him …..from a distance naturally
Anggelo is a singer-songwriter, multidisciplinary performing artist and countertenor, dancer, actor and painter, and much more. His work explores the intersections of his queer, Latino and immigrant identities using music, physical theater, dance, text and costume. We are so very excited that our paths are about to cross again
On December 1st – 3rd Anggelo will bring his latest show ENGLISH WITH AN ACCENT to Lincoln Center’s Clark Studio Theater in NY. It is an original musical production of dance theater, in which he is joined a company of 10 dancers. The story follows an immigrant caterpillar’s arrival in New York City with hopes of becoming a butterfly. “English with an Accent” explores the attainability of the American dream through themes of freedom, safety, and self-worth.
Directed, choreographed, and developed by Avihai Haham, the production boasts original music and lyrics composed by Migguel Anggelo and his longtime collaborator and music director Jaime Lozano. English with an Accent, the album, will be released on December 2.
Tickets will be available on a ‘choose what you pay basis’, but the suggested ticket price is $35.
