Miami’s (Very French) Queer Brunch

Those clever people at O Cinema, Miami’s favorite Art House cinema in Wynwood are enticing people to go see one of the very best queer movies of 2017 with a chic French brunch, complete  with  a glass of mimosa naturally.  The movie is BPM (Beats Per Minute) which regular readers of queerguru know we haven’t stopped raving about for months (see our full review here).  We are not alone in our opinion as the movie won the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival and is France’s Official Submission for Best Foreign Picture Oscar.

Robin Campillo’s stunning  masterpiece is undoubtably Europe’s seminal AIDS movie.  His sprawling and somewhat harrowing tale that centers on the ACT UP group in Paris is based on his own experiences as an activist in the 1990’s, but he adds a fictional love story that makes his account of the pandemic in France that much more personal and highly emotional.  It’s one of those rare movies that gay or straight, you will kick yourself if you miss it, but be sure to hang on to your napkin, you’ll need it when you run out of Kleenex.

The event is on Sunday 19th November 2017 at 11 am and is sponsored by the Miami Foundation’s LGBT Fund, with  food provided by Cafe Creme.  For tickets  ($27 each) and further information, check HERE.
