Megan Mullally is one half of punk-showbiz band called NANCY AND BETH

In case you hadn’t heard Megan Mullally aka iconic gay diva Karen Walker in Will & Grace is actually a really brilliant singer too.  Back in 2007, she released a CD  that featured her versions of songs by Ryan Adams, PJ Harvey, and Ray Price. Now she has hooked up with Stephanie Hunt to form a punk-showbiz band called Nancy and Beth singing jazz standards and their covers of George Jones and Gucci Mane’s “I Don’t Love Her” .

This spring they are taking the Band, that also includes Datri Bean on keyboards, Joe Berardi on drums, Petra Haden on strings, Sophia Johnson on guitar, and Andrew Pressman on bass, on the road. The tour, will kick off April 15 in Los Angeles at Largo and will include their debut residency at the famed Café Carlyle in New York City from May 1 to 5, will be in support of Nancy And Beth’s self-titled CD, which was released last year.

The musical collection defines eclectic with Rufus Wainwright’s “Vibrate,” the Mills Brothers’ “Cab Driver,” Louis Jordan’s “Jack, You’re Dead, and with a cover of Wynonna Carr’s stormy blues track “Please Mr. Jailer’ which is featured in the video below.  Once you watch and listen to this you will be begging to see them live.
