Meet Ryan Leddick : a queer Folk-Rock singer/songwriter who is challenging our music choices

Singer/songwriter Ryan Leddick is a rare breed. He’s a queer musician who actually performs Folk-Rock  ….. and does it very well too..  Listening to his soaring voice and watching some of his YouTube videos actually made us question why this is a genre of music that is not one that is normally considered ‘gay”.

Ryan told Queerguru that growing up in the Adirondacks in upstate New York, he caught the music bug early in his life, helped by the fact that talents run very deep in his family. With two music degrees in performance under his belt, he settled in Troy in New York’s Capital Region from where he tours and plays to his very loyal followers.

Come April 1st he starts his latest Tour with dates right up to September: you can check out the schedule HERE. You can find his last two live EPs; Live From Morris (2015), and Up, Up, and Away: a live album (2020) available on all streaming platforms.

Most of Ryan’s songs are autobiographical (like ‘Set Me Free’ below) which makes his music resound even deeper with us.  They have also taught us that we need to expand our listening to include other talented queer artists like him who may not be an obvious source of such joy.
