Marc Almond : Chaos and A Dancing Star

It’s hard to believe that Brit singer/songwriter Marc Almond has been making music for over 4 decades now. We carefully don’t call him queer as that really annoys him as he thinks that will limit who listens to him to just us gay boys.

Almond first burst on the scene in the 1980’s as one half of synthpop/new wave duo Soft Cell (remember Tainted Love?) Since then he has sold over 30 million records worldwide.  His non-stop career includes a duet with Gene Pitney on the UK number one single “Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart“; touring Russia (where he still lives part of the year); an album of Brel songs, called Jacques;; acted in an a opera , and lest we should forget was in a coma for weeks and nearly died after a motorbike accident in London.

Throughout all this as Almond kept re-inventing himself he remained one of the very best queer musician (sorry Marc) who has never stopped making incredible music.

His latest recording released earlier this year is Chaos and a Dancing Star,  written with Chris Braide,  Listen carefully as . Ian Anderson both sings and plays flute on some tracks
