Logo re-releases iconic Black queer TV series NOAHS ARC : now FREE on You Tube

15 years ago we just couldn’t forgive LOGO for cancelling  NOAHS ARK after just two seasons even though it had been their highest rated original series ever.  This groundbreaking and exhilarating series  centered on the lives of Black gay men in their own narratives without a hint of all the cliched stereotypes that were the norm in those days.

Created by Patrik-Ian Polk (Blackbird)  It followed Noah, played by Darryl Stephens (currently in From Zero To I  Love You)  and his group of friends, all Black gay men living and loving in Los Angeles.  It was like our own gay Sex In The City with the cast falling in and out of love, and we loved every single minute of it.  It may not have been perfect, and we’re sure that the political conscious found plenty of faux pas , but it was so ahead of its time and exactly what we wanted to see.

Logo tried to make it up to us at the time  with Noah’s Arc: Jumping The Broom to wrap up the storylines, but they closed the door of this crucial part of black gay TV history.

Now however they have made the entire series FREE to view on You Tube and we couldn’t be happier .  Whether you were devoted fans like us, or too young (!) to remember, this is gay TV at its very best and is totally unmissable.

All that would make it even more fabulous, would be of the commissioned Polk to make a sequel series .  The time is so right for that.
