Life for gay men can begin at 40 (sometimes….)

It used to be that when gay men reached their 40’s they literally became invisible to the rest of the community overnight.  Now replaced by much younger models we were expected to stay home alone or maybe with some long-suffering partner and watch the rest of our lives tick away in oblivion. It was kind of like being forced back into another type of closet.

Now as we grow in numbers and ’50 is the new 40′ (or 60 even ) middle-aged gay life doesn’t have to be a premature death knell after all..  Having said that we still have to deal with fading looks and an aging body, but most of the time grappling with this new decade is not only very fulfilling, it can also be full of scenarios  that are as funny as hell.

Its the premise for a brand new web series that had just been created by writer/director Brian Sloan (I Think I Do) and writer/performer Mark Sam Rosenthal (Comedy Central).

West 40s is about five diverse gay friends in mid town Manhattan approaching middle age from different angles – creative, savvy, raunchy, and mostly single. In their 30s, they’d meet strangers on the Hell’s Kitchen sidewalk and have sex in less time than it took to climb the four flights up to their apartments. But now past 40 they’re all wondering what they want for the long haul – and questioning whether they can still make it up those stairs!

Starring Dalton Blaine, Dan Domingues, Jeff Hiller, Matthew Montelongo, John-Andrew Morrison  and Mark Sam Rosenthal , the very first episode is already on YouTube and is deliciously funny.  Whether you are at this milestone in your own life, or have passed it, or even still have it to come. you’ll find something to relate to with this tight knit bunch of friends who are trying not to take life too seriously ……and still get laid.

P.S. Queerguru would love you to bits if you did us one tiny favor.  Despite the fact that we have had almost 250K hits on YouTube (yeah!) they will not give us a single cent of the advertising money that they make off us until we have more subscribers.  Won’t cost you a dime,  but it will help support our site. Just simply click on the link below.  Thank you very much!
