LESLIE JORDAN to be honored on the PALM SPRINGS WALK OF STARS

We are so thrilled that the late Emmy Award-winning actor and one of the funniest men we have ever had the pleasure of meeting LESLIE JORDAN will be honored with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.  Jordan had performed many times in that area and had hosted many benefits including the Steve Chase Awards.

His star is being sponsored by Jordan’s close friend the film director and playwright Del Shores the creator of the Sordid Lives series which provided the actor with the role of Brother Boy which won all of us over.  Shores will host the ceremony on October 20th along with actor  Emerson Collins, and will feature appearances by co-stars and friends Newell Alexander, Rosemary Alexander, Dale Dickey, Cheyenne Jackson, Bart Stevens, and Ann Walker.

Shores told Queerguru “Leslie Jordan was my friend, my muse, my confidant, my brother for over 37 years. Leslie would LOVE this honor. “He adored Palm Springs, gave back to this beautiful community for decades. I miss him every day. We all do. Now, we can be reminded of his amazing legacy to our entertainment, our laughter and to our LGBTQ+ community by visiting his PS star.”

In July this year, Shores recorded A Sordid Celebration of Life in memory of Jordan, but also Carole Cooke, Olivia Newton-John Sarah Hunley, and Rue McClanahan.  You can watch this below :

Six years ago Leslie sat down to talk to Queerguru about EXPOSED his new show at P Town’s Crown & Anchor and he couldn’t help but throw some delicious ‘shade’ in a seemingly endless stream of glorious anecdotes and stories. We treasure this interview not just becasue it went viral but because it captures his spirit, his charisma, and his sheer love of life.
