We were looking for an appropriate way to celebrate Easter when we came across a brand new album of Gospel duets. No surprise at that until we discovered it was the work of one of Queerguru’s favorite funnyman: the irreligious Leslie Jordan. I mean we know when Leslie is in his (Emmy Award-Winning) Beverley Leslie persona on Will and Grace he really secretly worships Karen Walker (Megan Mullally). Sadly she is not one of the stars he links up to record this very happy wee album but Dolly Parton is. So too are Gospel Music Royalty like Tanya Tucker, Brandi Carlile, Katie Pruitt, Morgana and Chris Stapleton, TJ Osborne and Travis Howard. |
The track with Miss Parton may grab most people’s attention, but we honed in on the fact that TJ Osborne had just come out as ‘gay’. Queerguru has interviewed Leslie a few times now, so we know that he would be the perfect person to support a new member of our community. After all, when questioned about his own coming out, Leslie once said” Honey, I fell out of the womb, into my mother’s high heels! You know what I mean?
