k.d. lang and Tracy Young hook up (musically speaking )

 

k.d lang first met Grammy Award-winning producer Tracy Young back in the 1990s when they hang about in the same circles in Miami (with Madonna no doubt too).  However, it took until now for these two queer music superstars to work together.  Today sees the result of their efforts with the release of “Constant Craving (Fashionably Late Remix)” today on Nonesuch Records.

 

The new track—the first-ever official remix of lang’s Top 40 hit and winner of the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1993—follows the release of makeover, a remix album that comprises of classic dance remixes of some of lang’s best-loved songs, made between 1992 and 2000. Tracy Young will debut the remix during her headlining DJ sets at Miami Pride this very weekend and at Orlando Pride on October 10.

 

makeover  was released in May this year debuted at #1 on the electronic album chart, and includes the #1 dance chart hits “Lifted By Love” and “If I Were You.” The cover art features a previously unseen 1995 portrait of lang by David LaChapelle..
