JUDY : Is this a Star Re-Born?

The Oscar Winning Actress Renee Zellweger would certainly not have been our first choice to play the iconic gay diva JUDY GARLAND on the big screen, but we must admit that in this first trailer of the new biopic JUDY, she does put in an impressive performance.

The film helmed by Brit  theater directed Rupert Goold is based on the stage musical End of The Rainbow  written by Peter Quilter that was first premiered in Australia in 2005.   It is the story of the last year in Garland’s life when she is London to appear at the Talk of The Town, and dies from an accidental overdose aged 47 years old.

Zellweger’s co-stars include Finn Wittrock as Mickey Deans (Garland’s fifth husband) as well as Michael Gambon in the role of her manager, Bernard Delfton; Rufus Sewell plays her third husband, Sid Luft, with whom Garland had a daughter, Lorna (Bella Ramsey), while Gemma-Leah Devereux plays Liza Minnelli, Garland’s daughter with director Vincente Minnelli.

Judy will be released in the US on 27 September 2019
