When Universal Pictures sent us the first preview trailer of CATS awhile ago, you really didn’t need to be a genius to spot that the movie STANK. And not it a good way like Phoebe Buffay’s Smelly Cat one of the highlights of Friends, With a budget of sone $91 million and a star studded cast and an Oscar Winning Director, the reviews are just in and nothing less than savage.
Rather than waste your money filling one of the many empty seats at the movie theater, stay home and listen to JENNIFER HUDSON one of the movie’s stars with her rendition of Cat’s most memorable songs MEMORIES. The video is of her performing it on TV’s The Voice
And talking of Jennifer Hudson (which we love to do) this video clip from MGM landed on the QUEERGURU desk’s earlier today. . It’s a sneak preview of La Hudson playing ARETHA FRANKLIN in a new biopic that will be released in August next year. She both looks and sounds stunning, and we feel sure that the late Queen of Soul herself would wholeheartedly approve too.
The movie directed by Liesl Tommy (Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings) also stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans ,Tate Donovan, Tituss Burgess, Mary J. Blige and Audra McDonald.
We smell another Academy Award Nomination for Hudson, and no doubt she will be more than happy that there is after all life after Cats .
