JD Brousse brings his stunning solo show (le) Pain to Edinburgh Fringe Fest

JD Brousse was destined to be a fourth-generation baker, but instead, he ran away from home and joined the circus.  Now a performance artist  (le) Pain is his first solo show and it is about breadmaking, physical heroics, growing up queer in a boulangerie in the south of France, endings and new beginnings. It involves circus, dance, storytelling, Béarnaise folklore video, karaoke and laughter.  He, and the show, are totally unmissable.

(le) Pain is about to have a month’s residency at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a program that  brings together the very best puppetry, visual theatre and animated film from across the globe with work that has been developed here in Scotland, they aim to spark opportunities for artistic exchange and to offer audiences a diverse palette of rich visually led work.

It’s all a long way from that Boulangere from the south of France  ……
