For three nights only JAKE SHEARS (ex-frontman Scissor Sisters) is reprising his Broadway debut role starring as Charlie in KINKY BOOTS the musical. He’ll be hot-footing onto the stage of the Hollywood Bowl from July 8th- 11th alongside Wayne Brady who’ll once again be putting on his ‘Lola’ boots after his two stints in Broadway playing the part.
Based on a true story, the musical follows Lola, an indefatigable drag performer, whose broken heel kickstarts an unlikely friendship with Charlie, a factory owner struggling to save his business.
Kinky Boots, which won six Tony Awards, features a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein. This production will be the 21st annual LA Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl-produced, fully staged Broadway musical mounted at the venue.
