Let’s start by setting the record straight: I rarely step into our kitchen to cook. It’s not that I don’t like eating, it’s just that I don’t like to have to accompany the journey food must undertake to land on my plate. So I got quite excited when an email from A + E arrived in my inbox declaring JAKE MAKES IT EASY. To begin with, as he is definitely very ‘easy on the eye’ I decided to dig deeper.
Jake is Jake Cohen, one-time food editor, test kitchen director, culinary social media creator, cookbook author, and now TV chef, who promises to ‘make it easy’. He’s a gay Jewish boy, very fond of his mother and newly single. After watching him perform on his TV, you quickly realise this quick-witted, handsome man with an infectious sense of humor is quite the mensch. And definitely a catch.

Watching previews of the new series of his show, I found myself actually being so impressed by the ease of his recipes that for one fleeting moment, I actually thought of learning his recipes and starting to cook at home. Thankfully, that moment quickly passed, but not all is lost, as I made my husband watch with me, as he has always been the designated chef in our kitchen. I’m hanging in there waiting to taste his one-pot chicken meatball and orzo parm that’s cozy, comforting, and weeknight-friendly.
