Now that the Lockdown restrictions are being lifted across the US at least, theaters are beginning to open up again. Including the Epiphinay Theater in Fort Lauderdale who are about to mount a new production of Nunsense Amen. When the original version opened on Off-Broadway in 1985 for four days at Manhattan‘s Duplex and remained for 38 weeks, encouraging Don Goggin its creator to expand it into a full-length theater production. Nunsense Amen! is a hilarious spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. Thus, the remaining nuns, – ballet-loving Sister Leo, street-wise Sister Robert Anne, befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, mistress of the novices, Sister Hubert and the Mother Superior Sister Regina stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed. With catchy songs and irreverent comedy, Nunsense Amen! has recast all the roles from the original musical Nunsense with men playing all of the nuns. This production directed by Ed Sparan, and Musical Director Ryan Crout will feature Michael Gillespie, Francois Ratzel, Mike Dinwiddie, Will Kennedy, and Joe Eberspacher |
The show will be performed at Elliot Hall 2501 N.E. 30 Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 33306, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7pm, May 6,7,8, -13,14,15 -20,21,22
