Iris Prize’s superb Finalists

If your share queerguru’s passion for indie queer cinema then you will like the real treat of the video included below.  It is a montage of some  of the 35 short films competing for the worlds’ most prestigious annual LGBT short film award the Iris Prize.  The winner receives an extremely generous £30,000 prize funded by The Michael Bishop Foundation to help them make their next film, which often is a full-length feature of their short. Past winner Brazilian filmmaker Daniel Ribeiro did just that with his superb and tender ‘The Way He Looks’.

The Iris Prize plays an essential stepping stone in introducing the work of these creative new filmmakers from all over the world and helping them reach the audiences they so richly deserve.  Now with the rapid growth of more #LGBT global streaming platforms such as Revry and Dekkoo etc  we have every hope that the clips included today will end up on a format that you can access in the next few months.

The Iris Prize is based in Cardiff in Wales, and now in its 11th year, and we applaud them for their continued commitment to supporting and nurturing queer cinema.
