I may be a little late to the party, but I am there now and am so happy to declare I’m In Love with Jessica Kirson ….. even though she told me (and the world) I’m The Man. She is a brilliant stand-up comedian, originally from New Jersey, and she claims that her mother, who was a therapist who worked from home, had a profound effect on her and her comedy. In fact, part of why her schtick is so fabulously funny is that she mines her own life for material that includes her sobriety, her Jewish upbringing, and being a lesbian parent of 4 kids. You can always expect a fair amount of Black/gallows humor that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo.
Kerson cites Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett among her comedic influences, as she loves doing characters. Even though in her rapid-fire delivery, story telling she has said that she loves putting out a message of tolerance that teaches people not to be mean, and to be more kind
