It’s quite a while since we have been mildly entertained by anything in Vogue ….. probably ever since Dame Anna’s job went global. However, this latest issue has a profile on a Sante Fe couple who could easily be mistaken as Iris Apfel‘s offspring.
Even in Sante Fe one of the most fashionable art centers of the US Orren Davis Jordan and Robert Parker (he’s the one with all the tattoos) still stop traffic. They are actually works of art themselves with their very eclectic and eccentric outfits. Their shared passion and talents result in flamboyant colorful ensembles that are a sheer joy to observe.
They have been a couple for remarkable 44 years having met when Robert walked into Jordan’s hairdressing salon looking for a job. It was love at first sight and you can see that clearly in these photographs taken by Jason Boeckl for Vogue

Although they each hold their own distinctive inspirations and style curiosities, they do often swap pieces, and even share a closet. They told VOGUE “We can wear each other’s clothes and put them together completely differently,” Parker says. Jordan adds, “Robert is a little more casual than I am. I prefer a more pulled-together and matched from head to toe. I also tend to accessorize more. My looks are a little more what I call complex; others call it too much.” Another thing they share? The belief that good style can come at any age. They often capture their Instagram photos with the hashtags #eldergays and #advancedstyleolderandwiser.
