HOMO HUMOR: COMEDY AND SUBVERSION via Italy

Last month Queerguru wrote of another HOMO HUMOR Event, also curated by queer filmmaker Lee Campbell,  that  was part of PERFORMIA 2020 an evening of Performance, noise, videos and experimental sound.  in MIAMI’S WYNWOOD ART DISTRICT

Now Campbell has curated a similar event which is to be  hosted online  by QUEERESIMA/ARC CAGLIARI, ITALY.  They should be the perfect host as generally the  Italian queer community have such a healthy respect and regard for avant-garde culture.

Campbell writes “By combining fine art, performance and comedy aesthetics. HOMO HUMOR explores the application of humor and comedy tactics by contemporary queer male artists and invites visitors to reflect upon how queer male culture has employed artistic embraces of humor and comedy as strategies to challenge, transgress, subvert and rebel.”

Campbell has  selected  a few  short films by queer male experimental artists/filmmakers who include Ilker Cinarel, Joao Dall’StellaSean Leviashvili , Stephen Riscica,  and  Campbell himself

The program will consist of the following shorts:
