Fresh from being the runner-up for an Oscar for the 7th time, legendary actress GLENN CLOSE has just announced plans for her next movie that may just get her the golden statute come next February. She is going to recreate her Tony Winning turn as Norma Desmond in the movie adaption of Lloyd-Webber’s Sunset Boulevard (which was actually based on the Billy Wilder movie of the same name).
The director will be the Tony Award winning choreographer Rob Ashford making his feature film directing debut and shooting is planned to start in October.
More advanced however are the plans to film CATS yet another Lloyd-Webber hit stage musical, and this may prove to be Ms Close’s toughest competition when it comes to Awards as the movie stars Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson who gets to sing Memory. Directed by Oscar Winner Tom Hooper (The Kings Speech) with a script from Oscar nominee Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”) it has a star studded cast that includes Judi Dench, Ian McKellan, James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Idris Elba, Taylor Swift and the fabulous Les Twins
We cannot wait to see both, and our money is already on seeing Miss Glose back at the next Oscars very soon and it will be as if we never said goodbye.
