The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark,  is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare and is considered among the “most powerful and influential tragedies in the English language”, with a story capable of “seemingly endless retelling and adaptation by others”.

Wednesday, March 1st  sees a new production by South Africa’s award-winning theater company Abrahamse and Meyer  Last year they made history when their production of Hamlet opened at Kronborg Castle, in Elsinore, Demark as part of the annual HamletScenen Shakespeare Festival.

After playing to five-star reviews and standing ovations  Abrahamse & Meyer return to Artscape to present a thrilling, new production of Shakespeare`s greatest play. The award-winning duo brings their trademark innovation and finesse to this most haunting of plays. With spectacular new designs, this breathtaking production promises to be a must-see for learners, educators, and lovers of Shakespeare alike.

Since 2012 the Company has also taken part in the annual Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival, and this is where Queerguru became big fans of their work.
