George Michael, ‘Freedom Uncut’ that is set to be released in June of 2022, is being hailed as a ‘new documentary, but true Michael fans will know that is the Uncut version of ‘Freedom‘ that was released in 2017 a year after his untimely. According to The Guardian that documentary, which was narrated and co-directed by the singer just before his death, is a little self-indulgent – but honest and moving, too
So we will have to wait until June to see what this new version adds to Michaels’s story, but regardless of whatever difference, his legion of fans will still flock to movie houses around the globe to see it. Probably more than once
Then on July 8th, Sony Music is releasing a deluxe limited edition of George Micheal’s iconic album. OLDER. Written, arranged, and produced by Michael, ‘Older” saw George exploring new music, as he reflected on life, loss, and pain with, ultimately, the redemptive power of love triumphing over everything.
The album produced six singles, two of which – “Fastlove” and the haunting “Jesus To A Child” – reached No.1, with the other four peaking in the top three. The album was a huge global commercial success, going 6x platinum in the UK, as well as verified platinum in another 22 countries – an achievement that is unparalleled to this day.
Michael said at the time “I think I composed the best, most healing piece of music that I’ve written in my life with this album … Older is my greatest moment”
