Queerguru adds our congratulations to former WWE wresting superstar Gabbi Tuft for coming out publicly as transgender. It’s never an easy journey for anyone to make but to do it so openly in this ultra macho sports world takes extra guts and courage for which we so applaud her
The former WWE star, who’s professional name was Tyler Reks, revealed that she’s now using female pronouns and opened up about the support she’s felt from family, friends and fans.
Kudos to all her former colleagues who came out in support of her . Chris Masters – who held the Intercontinental Title during his time in WWE – replied to Tuft’s initial coming out Instagram post with: “Respect.”
Tuft said n an interview with Extra, she said she knew she was trans as early as age 10 when she would sneak into her mother’s closet and try on her clothes. “It just felt right,” she said. Tuft continued: “But I suppressed it my whole life just because of society, knowing that people didn’t accept it.”
