Coming on the heels of the Independent Spirit Awards (kind of like the Oscars for indie movies) we’re excited to discover another Queer Film Fest dedicated to indie films. FilmPride is Brighton & Hove’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival …. (many locals like to refer to the town as ‘London By The Sea’ ). It’s a volunteer-run festival, showcasing the work of LGBTQ+ independent filmmakers from all corners of the world, and they are back in their 7th year with screenings this February, celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month.
Spanning intimate personal stories, community histories and daring genre work, FilmPride on TV celebrates queer voices on screen – unfiltered, inventive, and unapologetically visible! This year’s TV festival takes place from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd February, 9pm, with repeats the following week.
