Étoile’ a new behind-the-scenes ballet melodrama on Prime Video is about to have us all doing high kicks (in a very manly way of course)

Balletomanes have to wait just 10 more days for the launch of a highly anticipated brand-new TV series on Amazon Prime called Étoile’. It’s a wonderful behind-the-scenes high drama that follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies — one in New York City and the other in Paris — as they embark on

an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions by swapping their most talented star.  It’s the work of the Emmy-winning husband-and-wife show creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, who have only just recently produced the tearful sendoff of their mega-hit The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.  If you are a queer fan still mourning the end of the series,  then we should share with you that the too-handsome-for-words Luke Kirby who won an Emmy for his portrayal of Lenny Bruce in Mrs. M also stars in Étoile’ .

Mr Kirby’s co-stars are Charlotte Gainsbourg, Gideon Glick, Milo Ventimiglia Liza Weil. Kelly Bishop Yanic Truesdale and Lou de Laâge, who portrays Cheyenne, the Parisian dancer sent to New York City (and who doesn’t seem happy about it).  And all the ballet fans will love the fact they havent held back with all the dance content (choreographed by Marguerite Derricks) and it showcases a slew of ballet notables—tou can spot Tiler Peck, Brooklyn Mack, Unity Phelan, Robert Fairchild, John Lam, and Alex Wong, to name a few.

If you simply cannot wait until the 25th to see ETOILE  (!) then we can share with you that QG’s very good friends at OUT on Film, Atlanta’s  LGBTQ+ Film Fest have a  special preview on the 23rd!  Just grab your pointe shoes and hurry down and tell the Fest Director Jim Farmer we sent you
