There is always the very real possibility that fame and success can make some celebrities do the most stupid things. And worst of all instead of anyone pointing these enormous faux pas out to them the world (or some of it) may actually take more notice of you. But the more extreme your behaviour, the quicker the adulation will fade and your moment in the spotlight will pass. If you are not careful, then people will even forget what real talents you had in the first place.
One very noticeable case in point is queer actor Billy Porter. Tony Award Winner for KInky Boots and last year the first man of color to win a Primetime Emmy for Pose he has become equally known for his flamboyant non-binary style of dress. Such as his outrageous gold outfit he wore when literally carried into the Met Gala last year
We have applauded his scene stealing audacity and have admired some of his other elaborate costumes he has been wearing for his habitual red carpet appearances, that is until last night.
At the 25th Critics Awards Ceremony at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif as a Nominee for Best Actor in a TV Series, Porter not only lost out on the Award, but was by far the most ridiculously dressed person at the Event He was wearing a two-tone satin seafoam green Hogan McLaughlin jumpsuit, which resembled a gown, with darker green panels on the side and back which didn’t suit he one single iota.
Style maybe a matter of personal taste but it should at least flatter you, and not hold you up for potential ridicule.
Billy Porter we get it, but enough is enough. We think of you as a very talented actor , but do you really want all that eclipsed by your very dubious costume choices that are desperate for attention and that should only be worn on Halloween
