The hilariously funny Golden Globe winning actress Jane Lynch is an Executive Producer of a delicious outrageously camp new comedy series that she also stars in too. Dropping the Soap goes behind the scenes of a prime-time soap opera that is way past it’s prime. It’s over-the-top hammy acting complete with those long lingering close-ups to camera and it’s very dysfunctional and self-centered cast desperate to hang on to their jobs are about to be shaken rigid by the arrival of Olivia Vanderstein (Jane Lynch) a new ruthless Executive Director who is intent on cutting jobs and introducing some crazy ideas of her own.
The series is co-written by Paul Witten who plays Julian Draker the leading man (‘of questionable talent and moral compass’) in the failing Soap, and like all the other cast members he is wincingly pitch perfect.
If you can admit to ever being a fan of any cheesy Soap at any time, you will so not want to miss this mercilessly funny parody that debuts of the Dekkoo streaming platform from March 7th.
