One day Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) receives a letter informing him of an impending visit by King George V and Queen Mary (evidently u those days the Monarch simply invited himself and the told the Host he was coming. So Downton Abbey is all in a flutter as they prepare for a royal luncheon, parade and dinner.
This is plot of the highly-anticipated movie from the smash hit TV series. The question must be asked, can anyone possibly me more regal than the formidable Dowager Duchess (Maggie Smith)?
Downton Abbey the Movie will be released in the UK on September 13th and in the US one week later. Although all the major players and all the old traditions will be on display, times are changing though even in their privileged world.
