We are wondering what the word is for a surfeit of Dianas is. That’s DIana, Princess of Wales if you hadn’t worked it out. We recently published the first trailer of Pablo Larrain’s movie Spencer currently playing the prestigious film festival circuit to great acclaim (that we added again at the bottom of this piece). His Diana is dealing with the last three days of her marriage to Prince Charles with an award-worthy performance by Kirsten Stewart. Neon will release this in the US on 5th November 2021.
Now Netflix has released a preview of Diana The Musical before it gets its long-delayed opening on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley, DIANA which covers a great deal more of her life was filmed in 2020 at the Longacre Theatre without an audience and features the original Broadway cast, led by Jeanna de Waal as “Diana”, Roe Hartrampf as “Prince Charles”, Erin Davie as “Camilla Parker Bowles”, and two-time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye as “Queen Elizabeth.”
The musical has book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Bryan, choreography by Olivier Award winner Kelly Devine and musical supervision and arrangements by Olivier Award winner Ian Eisendrath.
Netflix will release it globally on October 1st 2021
