If it hadn’t been for the fact Queerguru was reviewing Ahead Of The Curve a new documentary on the iconic queer activist Frances ‘Franco’ Stevens we may never have discovered the poet Denice Frohman. We may actually be a tad late to get in line to sing praises about her extraordinary work as the video of her powerful and glorious Dear Straight People has already had almost 4 million hits on You Tube .
Frohman is a queer Latina poet, performer, and educator from New York City. With a string of prestigious Fellowships and Awards to her name she is also aa former Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion.
Fiercely articulate, funny as hell, hugely inspirational, Frohman turns this otherwise diatribe against straight people into a joyful agenda that we are so happy to adopt as our own mantra.
The Queerguru Team have played this one video over and over again that we think all our neighbors have finally got the message. As have we too, and now that we have finally made it here, we are determined to become faithful Frohman fans
