British TV is so much more liberated than here in the US for when it comes to matters of sex they can be more than a little prudish and homophobic to boot. This last week saw a stunning same-sex couple duo David and Javier electrify both the judges and the audience of Britains Got Talent with their salsa routine. They were as sexy as hell. It is, however, something you will never ever see on American TV. Yet.
Writer/actor David Walliams (Little Britain) one of the program’s judges used the occasion to criticize the BBC for not allowing same-sex couples on their popular prime-time show Strictly Come Dancing. Brit ex-pop singer Will Young an openly gay man who was a consultant on Strictly for a short time came out against the idea and thus his own internalized homophobia helped stopped progress being made.
It is obviously just a matter of time when people stop listening to the Will Youngs of the world and then we’ll see same-sex couples dancing on TVs throughout the globe if for no other reason they look beyond totally stunning as you can see from the video below.
