Last night’s BAFTA Awards Ceremony in London’s Royal Albert Hall opened in such style. The star-studded audience of nominees and celebrities was greeted with a stunning performance by Dame Shirley Bassey belting out Diamonds are Forever to mark the 60th Anniversary of James Bond Films.
The 85th-year-old diva showed the audience ….. that included Lady Gaga ……. how to maintain such a long career (her first no 1 single was in 1959)…. in such style. Her claim to fame includes so many noticeable highlights such as in 2020, with the release of her most recent album, I Owe It All To You, Bassey became the first female artist to chart an album in the top 40 of the UK Albums Chart in seven consecutive decades.
Last night, yet once again, Dame Shirley, one of our favorite gay icons, showed that diamonds like her, really are forever.
