One of the joys for QUEERGURU having a home base in Miami as the city doesn’t talk about its sheer diversity but it never ever stops been proud of it . Next week sees one of our favorite annual events Celebrate ORGULLO which is one part LGBTQ Pride and one part Latinx Realness. and so much fun.
They never do anything in halves, so it is 2 weeks of activities and all based around Fashion which kicked off on October 1st and culminates with Fashion Gala at FROST ART MUSEUM @FIU where honoree: Angelica Ross, the star of Pose and American Horror Story 1984 will be honored with the Trailblazer Award.
The Gala will also showcase rising stars who are Hispanic including: Bo Khasamarina, Chloe Martini, Chaplin Tyler, Miguel Rodez, Ralf Vidal, and Juan Mantilla. Also in this night of Music, Fashion, Art & Libations, they will honor the community leaders who go above and beyond and lead by example.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect as this is HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH which is a time to reflect on the centuries of positive impact from Hispanic immigrants that are such an essential part of Miami’s community.

The Frost Museum at FIU is showing “Art after Stonewall, 1969-1989.” a groundbreaking exhibition that honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprisings, that really kicked off the gay liberation movement.
