YouTube didn’t ban this ‘mature’ queer video until after it had clocked up over a million hits.  It was, as you can imagine,  the subject of intense online debate before making it onto numerous best of 2017 lists, including Vulture, Huffington Post, and Junkee.

Australian queer singer/performer Brendan MacLean’s video HOUSE OF AIR directed  by London based filmmaking duo Brian Fairbairn and Karl Ecclestone .  They say they were Inspired by Hal Fischer’s seminal photo series Gay Semiotics, combining explicit sex and  queer history,

Asides from You Tube’s ban the video did however get screened in the Midnight Shorts Competition at SXSW Film Festival, and now streams happily on Vimeo where it has already been viewed over 5 million times.
