For the past 15 years the fabulous Boulet Brothers have been the ringleaders of L.A.’s alternative nightlife scene producing extravagent queer cabaret and events, the likes of which have never ever seen before. They have not just transposed New York’s sleazy underground East Village to the West Coast, but they have embellished it with their outrageous sensibilities that has continually shocked and delighted their enormous loyal band of followers.
The Brothers (who are not related but are partners who refuse to reveal their non-drag names) produce events that are all about excess. They told Frontiers Magazine recently ‘We always want to give people a place where they can come and go fucking crazy, adding ‘It’s like partying with drunken abandon. That’s our vibe’.
Now you can see this immensely talented (and extremely scary) duo at work in a new webseries DRAGULA: Search for the World’s First Drag Supermonster. It’s a new Drag Queen Competition that is so fierce and physically tough that it actually makes RuPaul’s Drag Race look like child’s play. They deliberately intimidate all the contestants with such a shocking tasks that makes you really fear for them all, although at the same time, you simply cannot stop watching for one single second.
queerguru is totally hooked, which is not tough at all (in the comfort of your own home !) as Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet are nothing less than sheer geniuses and a real joy to watch.
