Bollywood, the worlds campiest film genre, finally goes Gay.

Bollywood has just made its first ever gay rom-com and the news has spread like wildfire and its trailer has have 59 million hits in just one month.

It’s been only two years since the Indian Supreme Court finally overturned its ban on homosexuality that had been imposed by the British when they ruled the country.  Although mere legalisation hasn’t changed the inbred homophobia so  the LGBTQ community In India are still a long way from being accepted by society.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, or Be Extra Careful About Marriage, stars popular actor Ayushmann Khurrana as an openly gay man who clashes with his conservative parents over his boyfriend.

Whether India will warm to the actual movie when it is released is still to be seen, but we know for sure that it will be a smash hit elsewhere around the globe.  After all Bollywood movies are unquestionably the CAMPIEST genre of movies EVER.  It is so many gay men’s fantasy that in the middle of any story everyone bursts into the an outrageous song and dance which has little or nothing to do with the plot.

We think it is way past time that they made more LGBTQ Bollywood films : it would be a marriage made in cinematic heaven
