During lockdown is a good time to plan your wardrobe and make ready for a time to bud and bloom when restrictions are relaxed. We asked Graham Fraser our Fashion Correspondent (and avid gardener) for tips on how to blossom and get some color back in our lives
He writes that it was very evident on the European runways that men in flowers became the look for Summer 2020. Designers Dolce & Gabbana, Dior Homme, Valentino, Dries van Noten, Alexander McQueen and D2Squared, the list goes on, all paraded men in floral prints.
Adopting the horticultural route you might have to look out for some bad floral garments that should never have seen the light of day. To wear a floral piece you have to be super confident. So maybe start with keeping it simple and going for a one bloom print and balance with a one colour block under a suit or jacket. Worn with shorts and a simple white t-shirt underneath works well. Or team with denim jeans, like Christian Slater in the 90’s film “True Romance” or with black jeans for a more contemporary look.
Blooms are everywhere and plenty on line to browse not only shirts but trousers, coordinating 2 pieces, swimwear, shorts, t-shirts and jumpsuits.
Come into the garden and take your pick……
