One of Observer’s Top 10 Theatre shows of 2022, director John Haidar’s visceral retelling of HAMLET, starring Brit actor Billy Howle. Howle made his acting debut in the E4 television series Glue. and then went on to co-starred in The Sense of an Ending and the miniseries The Witness for the Prosecution . His film credits also include Dunkirk,[, On Chesil Beach, Anton Chekhov‘s The Seagull, and in the Netflix film Outlaw King. He was also the face of Prada S/S16, shot by Craig McDean
Many celebrated actors have not tackled playing Hamlet until later in their careers when they felt they had the gravitas for the role. However, Howle meets Shakpeare’s criteria as he is 33 as the Prince himself was and he was rewarded with reviews that called him ‘mesmerising’
